Today I added Steve McCoy’s blog Reformissionary to the Bloogroll.
Steve’s writing is challenging, thoughtful, Scriptural, and visionary. Check his blog out if you get a chance.

The 95th Christian Carnival is now posted over at Eternal Revolution. There’s some good reading to be had.
I took part in it this time around, offering up this post.
Check the carnival out if you get a chance.
Ok, thanks to some help from my good buddy Thor, Thinklings looks like it’s up again. It’s been completely reloaded and upgraded.
Cross your fingers π
Just noticed that Bob at Mr. Standfast has a new blog called Gratitude and Hoopla. He’ll be posting there primarily, although he’s not decided whether Mr. Standfast will continue to get bloggage. I’ve got them both on the bloogroll.
Yesterday I heard a preacher say, “The party’s on!” Yes, that’s about right. The party’s on. I’m no cockeyed optimist when it comes to this life, this world, but, well, I know the hope (the celebration) to which I’ve been called. The end, the destination, is a party. The joy then will be complete. Perfect. Not marred by sin, tears, dissipation. So . . . I’m already excited. If it looks and sounds like pure foolishness to you, oh well. I’m just letting you know, this is what I’m about. this is where I’m at. This is why it’s called “Gratitude & Hoopla.”
Well said.
In case anyone was wondering Thinklings is now upgraded to WordPress (well, most of the way upgraded π and is back up and running. Update, Thursday morning: NOT REALLY π
I’m punchy.
I leave you with this. This is very, very inspiring at 12:30am (I’m not kidding).
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
– Isaiah 40:28 (ESV)
If you haven’t known or haven’t heard about our great God I hope and pray that you will reach out to him. He’s not sleeping right now – he never does. And he has all the time allowed by his eternal Now to take you in his arms, even as he is moving and active all over this huge world and all its 6 billion+ souls. He has time for you.
I am about to blogroll Cerulean Sanctum. I’ve been reading Dan for awhile and just recently realized I didn’t even have him on my blogroll.
He has some great things to say. For a taste, read this post: Tearing Down the Gallows. If only I could order my words as well as Dan does!
Increasingly the Christian blogosphere is being populated with bloggers outing heretics. I’ve blogged on this before (here, here, and here) and I’m not going to rehash old posts. What I want to discuss is something I hope all of us will consider whenever any of us takes on a pastor, speaker, preacher, ministry, or trend in the Church. I understand that there are people out there who are trying to corrupt the Gospel and that grieves me, but there are just as many people out there who are simply not understood by others and wind up bullied by well-meaning heresy hunters. Not only do godly men and women discern the difference, but act correctly when the worst is suspected.
That is what this post is about. I hope what follows edifies the Body and serves as a template for confronting others in the manner of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Read the rest of his post – it is good. In it Dan outlines seven rules we might learn to follow when engaged in defending the faith:
1. Remove the Log
2. Bear True Witness
3. Stifle Gossip
4. Confront the Wayward Personally
5. Practice the “Golden Rule”
6. Observe the Samaritan
7. Pray Psalm 51
If enough people heed this message we might see a much-needed return of balance, wisdom, and kindness in the Christian blogosphere.
I got my first spam comments today!
They finally found me.
Well, version 0.15 will now, officially, include some decent spam-banning / spam-filtering features. Until that time I’ll have fun deleting.
Spammers are evil. They just are.
Welcome Semicolon to the Bloogroll!
I noticed this site based on a recommendation from Mr. Standfast, and I can see why he blogrolled it too. The site is run by a homeschooling mother of 8 who’s husband works at NASA. Interesting stuff.
Two items of interest tipped the scale for bloogrollage. The first was a post on poetry called Creating Silences, in which she quotes Stephen Mallarme:
“It is the job of poetry to clean up our word-clogged reality by creating silences around things.”
The second is her list of The 105 Best Movies of All Time. So many of the movies I treasure are on this list.
Good reading.
The invaluable, most excellent Dawn Eden has some wonderful news!
I have two pieces of incredibly, unbelievably wonderful news to share.
This is not an April Fool.
The first is that today I received official notice that I will begin a new, permanent full-time job on April 11. It promises to be the best job I have ever had in my life.
I am sorry that I cannot give full details of the position here, because after my experience at my last job, I recognize the necessity of keeping my blog and job completely separate, both for my own sake and out of courtesy to my employer. However, I can tell you that it is a higher-level position than my last job, with greater opportunity for advancement (that is to say, there is opportunity for advancement); it pays better; the benefits are better; I like the organization and the people I’ve met there; and – most importantly – I’ll be doing the kind of work that I’ve been longing to do.
In other words, this is a complete answer to prayer – a greater answer than I had hoped for.
The other news is that today I accepted an offer to write a book for one of the largest Christian publishers.
Details of my book will be available here, but I’m waiting until the ink is dry on the contract and until my publisher lets me know it’s OK to get the word out. For now, I can tell you that it’ll be based on themes I’ve developed on this blog (not relating to Planned Parenthood – perhaps that’ll be another book).
As one who has followed with interest the travails and triumphs of this brave and increasingly influential Christian blogger, I’d like to congratulate Dawn. This is awesome news!
I’ve been trying to add Out of the Bloo to the Ecosystem for a few days now. Every time I click on the “Add Weblog” link I get this message:
Additions are temporarily disabled ; please check back tomorrow.
Bummer . . .
Guess I’ll just keep “checking back tomorrow” π
