but have not love,
I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have prophetic powers,
and understand all mysteries and all knowledge,
and if I have all faith,
so as to remove mountains,
but have not love,
I am nothing.
If I give away all I have,
and if I deliver up my body to be burned,
but have not love,
I gain nothing.
I Corinthians 13:1-3 (ESV)
I just read this post and had a thought – I don’t want anyone to read anything into it other than what it says 🙂 – it’s not a “coded message” to anyone or anything like that, it’s just such a powerful scripture and one I need to be reminded of in my own life.
It is a very powerful passage, one that is not often reflected on because of its familiarity. We figure we “know” it already.
But it could be a coded message to the blogosphere at large, where it seems all of the Church’s clanging cymbals have taken up blogging. 😉
Well, it “could” be, but it wasn’t 🙂
I read that passage the other day and I was convicted and humbled. Seems that God is using it to remind.
Thanks.
