Well, I’m back

Merry Christmas!

For the longest time (since 2005) this blog was based on software I had written called “Bloo” (hence the name). I realized sometime early last year that it was probably time to move on. Bloo did a good job. I was even kind of proud of it. There are still a few blogs out there that run on it. But, it is essentially “abandonware” now; I haven’t released anything new on it since December, 2011.

So, I have written a utility that converts a Bloo blog to WordPress. I converted this space once before to WordPress, then backed it out, but now I’m doing it for real. And this, the very first Bloo blog, is the very first blog to be converted to WordPress. I will shake things out here for awhile and then release the code so that anyone else who would like to convert can.

I’ll have to play with the theme or find a new theme as well, most likely.

In other news, I am (at least hoping to be) “back” in the blogosphere. I’m hoping to find my voice here in this little corner. And I can’t believe I just used the phrase “find my voice”.

Merry Christmas. God loves you!

Where I’ve Been

I’m primarily blogging these days over at the Thinklings, in case any of my three readers were wondering.

I may return here from time to time, or switch my activity from Thinklings to here as the mood takes me. But I’ve found I’m very bad at trying to keep two blogs up at once.

God bless,

Bill

I’m back

I think I’m going to start posting here in this humble little space again. I guess the next few days will tell.

Also, I upgraded to a pre-release of Bloo version 1.20 (version 1.11). It represents a pretty significant change, structurally, in Bloo, since Bloo now supports community sub-blogs. More on that later. This space always has served as a great guinea pig site for these releases anyway.

God loves you Blogosphere, and so do I.

I’m still writing

For my three readers who wonder where I’ve gone:

I’m still writing posts. Just not so much here. I have trouble juggling multiple blogs, I’ve discovered, and have decided to focus mainly on posting at Thinklings, where I started this little Adventure in Blogyssey, years ago.

So if you want to find me, that’s where I’ll be for awhile. And my other Thinkling bros (well, except for Blo, who we think doesn’t exist) also post on Thinklings, so there’s generally something good to read over there.

God loves you, blogosphere, and so do I.

I’m on hiatus

But you probably already figured that out, since I haven’t posted for almost a month!

All is well. Very busy. I’m paddling down Life’s whitewater rapids right now, and it’s all good. Even when it’s not, it still is, because God is.

Will be back soon!

In the meantime, you might want to click on the “View Bloogroll Posts” link in the navbar to the right, to read what some of the excellent bloggers on my bloogroll are saying these days.

God bless . . .

Changes to the bloogroll

I did some reorganization and cleaning-up of my bloogroll tonight.

A few notes: First, I removed a lot of blogs from it. If you are one of my three readers and if I removed your blog, I want to assure you that it’s not because your blog isn’t great. I removed some exceptional blogs. I can’t articulate the reason very well (heeeey, now that’s new! Just kidding 🙂 but it has nothing to do, I assure you, with the quality of your blog. All of the blogs in my bloogroll were top-notch, in my opinion.

It probably just has to do with a deep need I have these days to simplify. And to tone down the volume a bit. There are plenty of well-written, intelligent, thought-provoking, necessary things being said these days on the blogosphere, but I can only handle so much. I’ve been on a virtual blog-fast for the past month or two, other than a few blogs that I kept reading (the ones in the “Must-reads” category). I don’t want to step too quickly back into the firehose.

I haven’t been posting much . . .

. . . but I have been having fun with my page banner – lots of good pics to choose from!

Also, tonight I heard this song when driving Beth home from Beach in the Box, and a wave of nostalgia washed over me. This song expresses, better than I was ever able to do, the desires of my heart back when I used to be involved in the worship bands.

Even without music, may I be able to bring him something of worth, every day . . .

When the music fades and all is stripped away

And I simply come

Longing just to bring something that’s of worth

That will bless Your heart

I’ll bring You more than a song

For a song in itself

Is not what You have required

You search much deeper within

Through the way things appear

You’re looking into my heart

I’m coming back to the heart of worship

And it’s all about You

All about You, Jesus

I’m sorry, Lord, for the things I’ve made it

When it’s all about You

All about You, Jesus

King of endless worth, no one could express

How much You deserve

Though I’m weak and poor, all I have is Yours

Every single breath

I’ll bring You more than a song

For a song in itself

Is not what You have required

You search much deeper within

Through the way things appear

You’re looking into my heart

I’m coming back to the heart of worship

And it’s all about You

All about You, Jesus

I’m sorry, Lord, for the things I’ve made it

When it’s all about You

All about You, Jesus

I’ll bring you more than a song . . .

On a short hiatus

As you may have noticed, I haven’t been posting much lately. I’ve just been too busy to write anything decent.

I’m going to take a bit of a hiatus from this blog. But have no fear, my dear three readers, I’ll be back.

God loves you, blogosphere.
